Shockwave Therapy

A shockwave is intense, but very short energy wave travelling faster than the speed of sound. The basic technology involved with extracorporeal shockwave technology has been used for decades on millions of people. Therapy sessions are short, usually 20 – 30 minutes in length, and provide successful relief of chronic pain and restores mobility. Permanent relief typically begins about 72 hours following treatment.

There are no side effects of this non-surgical treatment. Shockwave treatments are non-invasive and promote accelerated recovery of injured soft tissue, bone, heel and joint pain.

Advantages of Shockwave Therapy:

  • Effective non-operative treatment for many tendon, muscle, and joint problems.
  • Helps where conventional therapy has failed.
  • Reduce pain by an average of 72% for chronic plantar fasciitis.
  • 85% of patients return to active sports faster.
  • Results are maintained even 12 months after treatment.
  • Scientifically proven to eliminate painful calcification from shoulder tendons in over 80% of cases.
