Physiotherapy Care
What is Physiotherapy?

When should I see a physiotherapist?
If you’ve been living with an injury or ongoing pain that’s changing how you move through your day, physiotherapy can help. We treat sports injuries, acute strains, degenerative and overuse problems in the joints and muscles, arthritis, concussion, postural imbalances, and the loss of strength or mobility that tends to come with them.
Our job isn’t only to settle the problem in front of you. We work with you to understand why it happened, then build a plan to keep it from coming back.

Physiotherapy FAQs
Is physiotherapy the same as exercise?
What kind of training do physiotherapists have? What makes them experts in human movement?
Do I need a referral from my doctor to start physio?
No, you can book directly with our clinic without a doctor’s referral. However, some insurance plans may require a physician’s note for coverage, so it’s always a good idea to double-check with your provider. If you’re ever unsure, we can help guide you through the process so getting started is simple and stress-free.
What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily is best. For example, shorts for a knee injury or a tank top for a shoulder injury. This makes it easier for us to properly assess and treat the area.
Can I see a physiotherapist if I am already seeing a chiropractor or massage therapist?
Yes — and in fact, physiotherapy often works best when combined with other forms of care. Many of our patients benefit from an integrated approach where we coordinate with chiropractors, massage therapists, and even family doctors to ensure your treatment plan is consistent and supportive.
For example, our 90 Days to a Healthy Spine Program is specifically designed to complement chiropractic care and massage therapy. It provides structure and long-term spine health strategies that fit seamlessly alongside other treatments, giving you a more complete path to recovery and lasting results.
How long will it take to feel better?
Everyone wants a short answer here, but the truth is that recovery looks different for everyone. It depends on your condition, overall health, and how closely you follow your treatment plan. Some people notice improvements after just a few sessions, while others with more complex issues may need several weeks or months. The most important thing to remember is that there is light at the end of the tunnel — you don’t have to live with pain or injury forever. During your initial assessment, we’ll give you a realistic timeline and guide you every step of the way.
How long is the first appointment?
What happens during the initial assessment?
During the initial assessment, we’ll talk about your health history, your current symptoms, and your goals. We’ll also do a physical examination to understand your movement, strength, and any limitations. From there, we’ll outline a treatment plan tailored specifically to your needs.
Will the sessions be painful?
Physiotherapy should not cause ongoing pain, but it’s normal to feel some temporary discomfort as your body begins to move and heal. We’ll always check in with you and adjust your treatment so it’s effective while keeping you as comfortable as possible.
Can I bring a family member or support person with me to the session?
Absolutely. We want you to feel comfortable and supported. You’re welcome to bring a family member, friend, or support person to your appointment if that helps you feel more at ease.
